Candidate for Lieutenant Commander-in-Chief
Sons of Confederate Veterans
Proven Experience with a Plan for SCV Growth
It is with much pride and excitement I am announcing my intent to run for the office of Lieutenant Commander in Chief of The Sons of Confederate Veterans in 2026.
While serving as your Army of Tennessee Councilman, I have traveled extensively throughout our Confederation, meeting many of you and listening to your concerns. This decision was reached after much prayer and the encouragement from compatriots from all three armies.
We have a great organization, but we must change many things if we are to survive. The SCV must go on the offensive to grow and attract new members. I have a plan to accomplish that, centered on the belief that: “If they know, WE will grow!”
With your support and the help of God, we will be successful.
The National Leadership Training Program
We will deliver comprehensive, hyper-local resource toolkits, financial support, and administrative training directly to our Camps and Divisions. This commitment ensures our grassroots leaders have the necessary tools to sustain their activities, strengthen the fraternal bond, and maximize recruitment efforts where they matter most—at the local level.
I will lead the effort to establish a National Leadership Training Program for Camp Officers—a clear, practical initiative designed to strengthen the SCV from the ground up. The purpose of this program is simple: to give every Camp Officer the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to lead a healthy, active, well-run Camp. The program focuses on real-world skills that matter most, including how to run an effective Camp, how to grow and retain membership, and how to build strong, motivated leadership teams. This training is designed to help officers step into their roles with clarity and support, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and long-term stability across the Confederation.
To make the program accessible to every Camp, training will be delivered through easy-to-use online modules, providing step-by-step guidance, downloadable forms, and practical examples. New Camp Officers will also receive a National Onboarding Packet with quick-start instructions, essential duties, and links to key resources. When possible, in-person workshops will be offered at National, Army and Division gatherings to provide hands-on instruction and leadership development. Together, these tools create a unified national program that empowers Camp Officers, strengthens local Camps, and builds a stronger future for the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Confederate States Radio
My work on the Communications Committee is just the beginning. We must execute a coordinated, professional digital strategy to cut through the noise, control our narrative, and reach potential members. We will ensure our organization’s official message—one of patriotism, history, and education—is delivered effectively and consistently across all digital platforms, making the SCV accessible to a new generation of members.
To address this, I will be recommending to the GEC that the SCV become a Major Sponsor of the new Confederate States Radio, a 24/7 internet radio station currently under development by Dixie Digital Media LLC and dedicated to promoting the mission and values of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. This station will allow us to speak directly to our members and the public with a clear and unfiltered voice.
I believe this sponsorship will represent a modern and effective step forward in strengthening communication, expanding our reach, and safeguarding our heritage. Confederate States Radio will not only carry our message nationwide, but also provide meaningful listener analytics that will help guide recruiting, outreach, and strategic planning. Supporting this project ensures that the SCV maintains a strong, reliable voice in the years ahead.
SCV Community Service Corps
The future of the SCV depends on attracting and engaging younger members, and every study of volunteer organizations shows the same thing: younger men want to join groups that do something meaningful. They want to serve, they want to contribute, and they want their time to matter. One Camp in Central Florida recognized this and pioneered the SCV Community Service Corps—a program that gives members opportunities to participate in visible, impactful service projects in their community where it truly counts, such as cemetery restorations, historical site cleanups, disaster relief assistance, and partnerships with local charities and veterans organizations. The results have been remarkable: increased participation, renewed enthusiasm, and a stronger public presence. This is exactly the kind of program we should be offering nationwide.
As the longest continuously operating veteran's organization in the country, the SCV has a proud legacy—but to secure its future, we must demonstrate that our mission includes service to our communities as well as preservation of our history. By rolling out the SCV Community Service Corps nationwide, we give every Camp a practical way to engage younger generations, build goodwill in their hometowns, and show—through action rather than words—what the SCV stands for. The CSC will strengthen recruitment, elevate our public image, and ensure that our organization remains vibrant, relevant, and respected for decades to come.
As Lt. Commander-in-Chief, I will lead the effort to roll out the SCV Community Service Corps across the entire Confederation. I will work with the GEC to provide a simple program framework, promote partnerships with veterans' organizations, and highlight successful service projects nationally. By making the CSC a core recruiting tool, we will give the Camps a powerful way to connect with younger generations, demonstrate the SCV's commitment to service, and strengthen both membershipa and our reputation in communities nationwide.
